About Us
She Can Caulk It started as a side hustle while our founder and lead contractor, Lindsay, worked a corporate desk job. By 2023, the business had taken off. Now, just three years later, She Can Caulk It is growing and thriving - and we couldn't be more thrilled with what it has become!
She Can Caulk It is more than just another contractor or home improvement company. We pride ourselves in the quality of our work and in the experience we provide our customers. But even more than that, we pride ourselves on our mission of inclusion.
It can be very difficult for those from certain minorities to get into the home improvement industry. When they do they often face misogyny, bigotry, or other mistreatment. She Can Caulk It is, first and foremost, a home improvement company. However, we are also a safe space for people - especially women and LGBTQIA+ folks - to gain entry into this industry through our training program.
Our training program has 5 levels, starting with an initial (paid) apprenticeship for those who have little to no knowledge about home improvement. They are tasked with learning, through modules and on-site observation. As they gain knowledge and skills, they move through the levels until they are equipped to handle just about any project that we take on. As our team members grow their skills, we identify other opportunities - within the company and outside of it - that align with each team member's personal goals. We believe it is in everyone's best interest for people to grow in whichever direction they prefer, and we want to be the best support we can be.
If you're considering the SCCI team for your project, here are a few things you can expect in your experience with us:
Respect - first and foremost, your home is your home and your rules are your rules. We are visitors in your home, and we will work with you to make sure we fit into your lifestyle and schedule. A few things that we have implemented in our team already are virtual walkthroughs so that you meet our team before we ever come to your home, open access to our office team to answer any questions that come up, and later start times (usually arriving between 10 and 10:30am).
Communication - we respond to messages and emails as quickly as we can. We are a small team, so occasionally when someone is out sick we have delays. However, even before you have chosen us to work on your project, you can expect transparency and consistency.
Dedication - we will get the job done. Our team is passionate about the work they do, and they accomplish it to our highest standards. When we take on your project, we are committed to making sure your vision can become a reality. We will ask questions, and then walk you through the options to make sure the end result is how you pictured it.
Projects we take on:
Our team takes pride in their work. We hold a high standard for all work done under the She Can Caulk It name. We are also a training company! So we take on most projects to give our team members opportunities to continue learning either from each other or from our lead contractor and owner of SCCI, Lindsay.
We don't say no to many projects, but opportunities our apprentices are in need of right now are:
Mounting projects (shelves, tv's, artwork, etc.)
Caulking projects (showers, bathtubs, kitchen counters, etc.)
Drywall projects (fixing holes in drywall especially!)
Painting projects (painting a room, etc.)
Tile work
Some things we just don't have capacity for right now:
Flooring
Replacing windows
Appliance repairs
Major plumbing projects
Major electrical projects
If a project that you have in mind falls into one of these categories, please still reach out! We have created a network of trusted, amazing contractors that we will happily refer you to if we can't help.
